Our deepest and sincerest thanks to Rev. Hugh Guentner, O.S.M., who served as our pastor for the last 14 years. After today, he will be retired and remain in residence at Mt. Carmel. During Fr. Hugh’s pastorate, we:
underwent major renovations in 2013;
celebrated our 120th anniversary in 2014;
repaired the stained glass windows in 2015;
celebrated Fr. Hugh’s 25th anniversary of ordination in 2016;
were placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2017;
celebrated our 125th anniversary in 2019;
weathered a worldwide pandemic from 2020–2021;
celebrated our 130th anniversary in 2024;
welcomed new parishioners and a new priest (Fr. Leo Hambur);
said goodbye to old friends, including our favorite priests: Fr. Carbone, Fr. Ramacciotti, Fr. Weber, & Fr. Mark Franceschini;
welcomed countless faithful into the Catholic Church and conferred the sacraments to many others;
and much more!
On behalf of the parishioners, parish organizations, and staff, we thank you for your dedication, kindness, and hard work. Thank you for supporting our Italian heritage and being a champion of our traditions. Thank you for leading us for 14 years. May God bless you in this next chapter. GRAZIE MILLE!
