On the Feast of the Assumption, we commemorate the Blessed Mother's happy departure from her earthly life and the assumption of her body and soul into Heaven. We also remember the 771st anniversary of Our Lady's appearance to the Seven Holy Founders and the official founding of the Servite Order. ​ ​

It is not a Holy Day of Obligation this year, but the faithful are still strongly encouraged to attend Mass and receive Holy Communion.
