The Month of December is dedicated to the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Catholic Church teaches that, like Jesus, Mary was also free from the stain of original sin at the moment of her conception.
The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception is celebrated on December 8th, but this year, it has been transferred to Monday, December 9th due to the 2nd Sunday of Advent.
