All Souls Day, or The Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed, is a day to remember and pray for the Holy Souls in Purgatory.
Catholics believe that a soul must not bear the stain of sin if it is to enter Heaven. If one dies with a venial sin on one's soul, he/she must first go to Purgatory to be cleansed of sin.
The faithful are strongly encouraged to attend Mass. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and our prayers are essential in helping the poor souls in Purgatory enter Heaven.
