The Saint Vincent de Paul Society was founded in 1833 by Blessed Frederic Ozanam to assist the impoverished people of the Paris slums. Frederic was a husband, father, professor, and served the poor. He was a student in Paris when he founded the society along with some of his fellow students. Blessed Rosalie Rendu was a Daughter of Charity who was a mentor to Frederic and helped the founding members with guidance and direction. She formed them in the spirit of Saint Vincent de Paul, teaching them how to serve the poor with love and compassion. The Saint Vincent de Paul Society was established in the United States in Saint Louis Missouri in 1845 and now can be found all over the world.

Our Saint Vincent de Paul Society was founded by our former pastor, Father Timothy Kremen, OSM, and Carol DiBiase-Ruffe in 2006 with a food bank. Eventually the society took on the role of helping those in need within our parish boundaries. This help may come in the form of food, rental or utility support, prescription assistance, spiritual guidance, or simply lending an ear. Many of our parishioners donate regularly to our society and all donations are deeply appreciated.
