Baptism

“Jesus answered: Amen, amen I say to thee, unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Ghost, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”

— John 3:5

  • Parents should contact the Parish Office at least two months prior to the time they wish to baptize their child. This can be done before the child is born. Parents and Godparents must complete a Program of Preparation prior to Baptism.

Baptisms are generally performed four times a year on the last Sunday of the month at 12:00 PM. Instruction for parents and godparents is the Thursday prior to the scheduled Baptism at 6:00 PM in the Parish Office.

Parents must be members of Our Lady of Mount Carmel or have written permission from their own parish to have their children baptized here.

Each child needs at least one godparent who is someone other than the child’s parent. Godparents must be actively practicing Catholic who have received the sacraments of Baptism, Holy Communion, and Confirmation.

Baptisms are most appropriately celebrated outside of Lent.

Please contact the Parish Office at 303-455-0447 or fill out the form below to schedule a Baptism.
