Holy Matrimony

“For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife, and they shall be two in one flesh. This is a great sacrament; but I speak in Christ and in the church. Nevertheless let every one of you in particular love his wife as himself: and let the wife fear her husband.”

— Ephesians 5:31-33

For a marriage to take place at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, at least one of the couple must to be a practicing Catholic and an active member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel OR have a letter from his/her own pastor giving permission to celebrate the marriage at Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

There is a necessary period of preparation for engaged couples that involves gathering important information and participating in a process that helps couples prepare to live out the Sacrament of Marriage. The preparation is 8-12 months. Engaged couples should contact the Parish Office in time to allow for this preparation.

No arrangements (i.e., date, reception hall, etc.) should be made prior to the first meeting with a priest.
