Councils & Committees

Our councils meet with the pastor to prayerfully reflect on the life of the parish and to evaluate the ministerial efforts of the parish. Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church is served by active and vibrant councils consisting of members of the pastoral team and volunteer parishioners who give much of their time to carry on the mission of the parish.

Pastoral Council

Our Pastoral Council is a consultative body that works in unity with the parish and pastoral staff. The council assists the pastor in identifying parish needs and helps to plan and implement parish programs and services. Participants at council meetings include our pastor and pastoral staff, the religious education director, two members elected at large, committee chairpersons and representatives from other parish organizations.

Finance Council

The Finance Council advises the pastor regarding parish finances and budgets. Under the leadership of the pastor, the council makes recommendations and reviews all aspects of parish financial and budget matters. Membership of the Finance Council is comprised of Mount Carmel parishioners experienced in financial matters.

Marketing Committee

The Marketing Committee works to promote Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and foster communication between our church and the broader community. Volunteers work collaboratively to create marketing goals and plans, then assist with the implementation of these plans through publicity, branding, and social media.

Liturgy Committee

The Liturgy Committee envisions, coordinates, and evaluates the worship, liturgical, and prayer life of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Included in its responsibilities are: inviting and training liturgical ministers, preparing liturgical and prayer celebrations, decorating our worship environments for the different liturgical seasons throughout the year, and supporting ecumenism in the area.
